Talisker - 10 YO
A typical dark and rainy november day here in Belgium, calls for an equally dark and heavy whisky. This smoky and ashy Talisker 10 YO fit the bill perfectly. We hope you'll enjoy our tasting notes for this one.
Nose: Heavy and bonfire smoky but also zingy, like lime zest. The proximity to the sea results in a brininess. It's also very woody on the nose and also black pepper is present. Although the peat is obviously present, we find this one to be rather smoky than peaty.
Palate: Very woody to the taste. Black pepper and American oak come to mind. Some sweetness, that was lacking in the nose, peeks through. Fruitiness like the one from raisins and cranberries. However, still smoky!
Finish: A sharp but warm finish for this one. Woody and briny. Not an overly complex one but very tasty nonetheless.
The only 'Isle of Skye single malt' never disappoints!
